Cara Coolbaugh Brown
Cara gradated from the McIntire School of Commerce in 2002. She is currently a labor & delivery nurse at the UVA Health System, having recently completed the UVA Clinical Nurse Leader “career-changer” Masters in Nursing program. Prior to nursing Cara co-owned a small business operating bicycle expeditions in the Himalayas, managed public health and education programs for the US Agency for International Development in Afghanistan, and researched health care workforce development for the Advisory Board Company. Integrating these streams of interest and experience and looking to the future, she hopes to reduce the global burden of maternal and child mortality and morbidity through increased research and training of health care workers within developing countries.
